The PlayStation 4 may have been a familiar fixture of British living rooms since 2013, but that doesn’t mean it’s in any way running out of steam. Indeed, 2018 promises to be another vintage year for the console, with the below new PS4 games all yet to come.
The FIFA games have been a must-purchase for football fans since the early 1990s, and the latest looming iteration promises to be no different.
The UEFA Champions League, Europa League and Super Cup competitions will all be added to the game, while gameplay will be enhanced by such changes as the new ‘Active Touch System’ that affects how players are controlled on the field.
FIFA 19 is set for release on 28th September 2018.
Red Dead Redemption 2
The ‘Wild West’ has long been a source of inspiration for video game developers, and the Red Dead series of Western-themed action-adventure titles serves as a further demonstration of this.
This sequel to 2010’s Red Dead Redemption will be released on 26th October, and is set in 1899, when the ‘Old West’ age of outlaws and gunslingers was nearing its end. It follows the story of one such outlaw and member of the Van der Linde gang, Arthur Morgan.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4
The Black Ops story arc that has already given us Call of Duty: World at War, Black Ops, Black Ops II and Black Ops III returns with its latest iteration on 12th October.
It’s one that no serious aficionado of multiplayer first-person shooters will want to miss. In fact, the game won’t have a traditional single-player campaign at all, although it will boast a new battle royale mode called Blackout, in addition to the familiar Multiplayer and Zombies modes.
Team Sonic Racing
You surely can’t call yourself a true games console fanatic if you don’t also indulge in a bit of kart racing action from time to time, and the latest instalment in this great tradition features no less than one of the most iconic video game characters of all time – Sonic the Hedgehog himself.
It won’t just be Sonic himself that you’ll be able to race as, however, given that 14 other characters from the legendary franchise’s cast will also feature. Meanwhile, the courses will be based on locations recognisable by long-time followers of Sonic’s world.
The game is presently tipped for a fourth-quarter 2018 release, and we just hope the reviews won’t be too prickly (sorry).
There aren’t too many characters that are even less mistakable than Sonic, but Spider-Man might be one of them – and will be the subject of a new action-adventure game released on 7th September.
The game will feature an older and more experienced Spider-Man, with no direct connections to any existing comic book, video game or film to emerge from Marvel’s well-populated stable.
As for where you can purchase all of the most interesting new PS4 games for a great price, there’s simply no better place than our own online store here at G14mes. So why wait any longer to take a look around our present games selection?
